Midgard, a part of the JRL Group, are progressing well with the construction of the 29-storey Beorma Tower, a key feature in Birmingham’s £200 million Beorma Quarter development. This project, designed by Broadway Malyan and spearheaded by Salhia Investments, will encompass 152,000 square feet of commercial office space, 124 residential apartments, along with retail and leisure facilities. Situated adjacent to the iconic Selfridges and Bullring shopping centre, the tower aims to be a significant landmark at the gateway to Digbeth.
Gleeds has been appointed as the project manager, cost manager, and health and safety advisor for the development, which is expected to significantly contribute to the local economy and enhance the urban landscape of the Digbeth area. The construction of Beorma Tower represents a crucial phase in the ongoing regeneration efforts in Birmingham, aligning with the city’s broader vision for growth and modernization.
Sam Wright, Group Director at Clarke Banks, expressed his enthusiasm about the project, stating, “We are thrilled to see works progressing for such an important gateway scheme, extra special for me personally as its in my home city. This development not only highlights Birmingham’s dynamic growth but also our commitment to delivering top-tier competent RBCA and Fire Engineering Services to ensure the safety and success of landmark projects like this.”
Salhia chief executive Abdulaziz Alnafisi said: “The signing of the build contract with Midgard Ltd (JRL Group) paves the way for the delivery of the landmark Beorma Tower. The tower is at the forefront of Digbeth’s renaissance and will be the catalyst for further development in the area. Its location will provide a natural link between the traditional city core and create a gateway to the Digbeth Quarter.”
